Building homes for Teachers in Zambia

New Ngoma School reflects a critical educational need for its 160 students ranging from ages 5-15.

Many of New Ngoma Primary School’s 160 students that fill its old and new buildings walk in from surrounding villages. Education is prized here but with only three teachers and the children’s ages ranging from 5 to 15, each class is rationed to half a day’s education. The school is a conservation partner of Game Rangers International and is adjacent to the environmentally important Kafue National Park but its remoteness means that whilst the head teacher walks 5 miles each way to the school every day the remaining two teachers must live with families in the small village of New Ngoma. More teachers would make an enormous difference if only there was a place for them to live.
